About the Author

Gordon Falk Bloom earned a PhD in Economics and a JD from Harvard. He was former President of Elm Farm Foods and Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Food Chains, and headed a real estate development firm. A Senior Lecturer at MIT's Sloan School of Management, he co-chaired the MIT panel that developed the format for the Universal Product Code. Bloom authored numerous books and articles on the food industry, labor relations and productivity.
