MIT senior Karl Reid with pre-college students, 1984

Karl Reid ‘84, SM ‘85 followed in his brother Keith Reid’s (MIT Class of 1979) footsteps to MIT, earning his Bachelors and Masters degrees in materials science. Reid joined the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) during his first year at MIT, later ascending to the top student post as the organization’s national chair for the 1984-85 term. He currently serves as Executive Director of NSBE.
