Billy Ndengeyingoma '15, MCP '17 earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (2015) and a Master in Urban Studies and Planning (2017) from MIT. His undergraduate thesis "The Balance of Local Culture and Global Economic Development" examines the case of the Nyarugenge Heritage Village in Kigali, Rwanda, interrogating "the references to and the inclusion of heritage preservation in the planning priorities of a post-colonial, post-conflict and developing city like Kigali aiming to operate as a global city."

Ndengeyingoma was among the four African MIT undergraduates featured in Brief Tender Light (2023), a documentary by Ghanaian filmmaker Arthur Musah '04, MNG '05.
