Main sources for the MIT Black History Project include the Institute Archives, the MIT Museum, campus publications, and members of the MIT community. Oral history is also a valuable evidentiary tool, supplementing and enriching the store of more traditional historical evidence. Additionally, the project draws material from relevant collections and publications at large.

Phil Freelon and David Adjaye: Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture (2016)

Clapperton C. Mavhunga: Training Critical Thinker-Doers (2017)

Brian Michael Bendis: The Julius Schwartz Lecture (2018)

Lisa Osborne- "Encouraging Black Participation in VR: The Role of Gatekeepers" (2018)

Joy Buolamwini: "AI, Ain't I A Woman?" (2018)

Intersectional Tech: Exploring the Black Cultural Production of Gamers in Transmediated Culture (2020)
